Anthroposophic medicine are prepared based on anthroposophical insights and are part of a therapy orientation that seeks to widen medicine. They can also be used in conjunction with regular medication. Anthroposophic medicines can relieve symptoms. They are no substitute for regular medication, but can supplement them. The use of anthroposophic medicinal products rarely leads to side effects. The starting materials are of mineral, metallic, vegetable and animal origin.

Weleda was founded in 1921 by Rudolf Steiner and Ita Wegman. It was a pharmaceutical laboratory with a garden of medicinal herbs. Today, the Swiss company produces over 90 products for body care and about 3,500 drugs. The company still has an anthroposophic philosophy.

Another producer is Wala Heilmittel Founded in 1935 by the German Rudolf Hauschka. This company has a range of about 1000 drugs and 120 cosmetic products.
